MPL fever: Brilliant start to MPL PH playoffs as MPL MY playoffs kick-off

New heroes, epic comebacks, close matches and lots and lots of MLBB action. The playoffs for MPL PH started with a bang yesterday, as Work Auster Force and Aura PH fought tooth and nail to secure their victories over Nexplay and Omega Esports respectively.

Regular season Group A leaders Aura PH was stretched to the limit by MPL PH S6 runners-up Omega Esports and almost dropped the game in the 5th and final set, before proving their worth with a hard-earned 3-2 victory. At the 10 minute mark, victory seemed all but lost for Aura PH, as they staggered 5 towers behind Omega Esports. But Aura PH’s fighting spirit and their unique use of new hero Phoveus soon allowed them to turn the tide.

Work Auster Force on the other hand, had little trouble getting the better of Nexplay Esports and cruised to a 3-1 victory. They did have a minor scare losing the opening match, but they recovered to condemn Nexplay Esports to their second consecutive first-round playoff exit.

On May 27, the MPL PH playoffs continued with 2 highly-anticipated matches: Onic Esports vs Execration and Bren Esports vs Blacklist International.

The epic rematch between Blacklist International and Bren Esports is billed as a clash of two titans. Blacklist International is the top-performing team from the regular season, while their opponents return to defend their title as the winners of MPL PH season 6. Blacklist International just might have the disadvantage as they earlier lost a game to Bren Esports during the 5th week of the regular season. Regardless of the result, the game is likely to be close, with both teams standing as strong contenders for the title of MPL PH Season 7.

In other news, the playoffs for the hyped MPL MY Playoffs finally kick-off tomorrow with 8 teams facing off against each other.

The game between Todak, the season 6 champions of MPL MY and the rising team RSG MY that showed tremendous improvements in the final week of the regular season, remains one of the most highly anticipated matches for tomorrow. After their counterpart’s recent loss in the first season of MPL SG, will RSG MY have what it takes to bring the RSG name to the upcoming MSC tournament in August?

This week is jam-packed with MLBB content, so stay tuned and hyped for more content coming your way!
