Meme Monday: Gaming Rewind! The most notable gaming jokes (or /hj) of 2021

The end of the year is near and now’s as good a time as ever to pull out our favourite glitch-related memes to wrap up this year’s hand at gaming. Sure, we got many good things for the gaming scene this year, but every good thing has its fair share of big bad’s, too.

Granted, the majority of these are from Battlefield 2042 and Cyberpunk 2077…but what can we say? These games just gave us a lot of material to work with.

That’s 2-for-1, folks. Who said you can’t enjoy a little greasy goodness while raging at your gaming console? Well, KFC has certainly gotten around to tackling that this year. Let’s just say…if you run into the usual Cyberpunk 2077 glitches, you can always rely on your new console to literally console you. With fried chicken.

Battlefield 2042 or Battleglitch 2042? Honestly! We understand the game is still in its pre-release and testing stages, but this bug is too good (or bad) or be true. No, EA, we didn’t want to reminisce the famous bug meme from Assassin’s Creed Unity. But alas, here we are.

  1. Missing (car) parts?

A first of many Cyberpunk 2077 glitches is…well, this. We’re not exactly sure what we’re looking at. Did he leave his car in the repair shop behind them? Is he missing something? I guess we’ll never know.

We’ve come to the point where it’s a surprise not to see any bugs in Cyberpunk. While 2021 has been a hard year for all of us, it seems like Cyberpunk took the biggest hit. We could all use an upgrade, or two — but this ain’t it.

While 2021 wasn’t a good year for many, Marvel sure reaped the benefits of everyone’s isolation. Release IMAX versions of the many movies on Disney+, five new original series and four new movies (not to mention Venom’s introduction to the MCU), there has been a ton to look forward to. One of them, however, was not this game. Released towards the end of 2020, the ‘Marvel’s Avengers’ games had their own set of glitches that everyone’s been talking about. One, obviously, is Cap’s iconic nose rub. Maybe that’ll teach him to stop poking his nose (or lips: we’re talking about you, Sharon Carter) where it doesn’t belong!
