Rebellion Set to Terminate Fearless’ Contract Over Allegations of Sexual Harassment

The reputation of esports in Indonesia has once again been marred as a player from Rebellion Zion, a professional Mobile Legends team, was recently named as suspect in a sexual harassment case.

A Twitter account claimed that on November 30th, a woman named Widya was subjected to sexual harassment by Moch Dicky “Fearless” Setiawan, the jungler for Rebellion Zion.

The victim, who works as a receptionist at the hotel, claimed that Fearless forced her to enter his room before her colleague intervened to stop the heinous act.

In response to the alleged harassment, Rebellion has issued an official statement declaring that Fearless’ contract as a player had been terminated and apologized to the victim.

Fearless departure from Rebellion Zion will undoubtedly affect the team’s strategy. Previously, he was regarded as a key player who helped Rebellion Zion to qualify for their first playoff stage during MPL Indonesia Season 10 in August.

Regarding the situation, there is a possibility that Rebellion Zion will again rely on Mohammad Jihadi “JiiSaa” Fatan as jungler. Initially, JiiSaa was reassigned as the gold laner player in MPL ID Season 10 when Fearless, who was in top form, took over the jungler position.

Despite his distinct style and attitude, JiiSaa is believed to be an excellent candidate to return to the jungle, especially given his performance in MPL ID Season 9.

Fearless has yet to make an official statement as a suspect in the sexual harassment case. However, MPL Indonesia organiser have learned of this situation and have declared that they are going to conduct an investigation and penalize the offender.

Fearless’ professional days are definitely numbered as the news of his sexual misconduct has spread like wildfire around social media. We do think that the victim is strongly advised to seek legal action against him, given that some social media users said that this was not Fearless first instance of sexual harassment.
