Team Spirit’s Yatoro and OG’s Yuragi Come Out to Support Koma

Team Spirit’s Yatoro and OG’s Yuragi have come out in support of Koma` after his lifetime ban from all Valve and PGL events and tournaments.

If you missed it, on December 18, 10 Dota 2 players, including Kamil “Koma`” Biktimirov, received a lifetime ban from all Valve and PGL events for account sharing and impersonating members of other teams. You can read more about the ban here and Koma`’s apology here.

Since our last update, Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk has gone to Telegram to share his thoughts on the ban. He thinks all the players involved deserved it, except for Koma`, who he has known and been playing with for three years.

He stated: “Knowing his efforts to get on (Virtus.pro) and become one of the best players in Dota, (Koma`) would never do 322 (a term referring to match fixing and throwing).” However, he did admit that Koma` played on more than one account though the punishment should not be a total and lifetime ban. As Yatoro said: “A ban for a year would have been fair and deserved”.

His rival and fellow Dota 2 carry Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev also echoed Yatoro’s opinions, saying that he knows Koma` and does not think that he is a “deceptive”, “terrible” or “cruel” person. He also said that the lifetime ban is too harsh and that Koma` has learnt his lesson.

His friends may have his back but Dota 2 fans on Reddit think the ban is deserved, even though they can sympathise with the fact that the young player’s dream has been crushed.

Moving forward from the incident, Virtus.pro – the team Koma` was representing before his ban – have been granted an emergency roster change and have hired Alexandr “krylat” Krylatov to be their new carry.
