Are Team Secret Entering the MLBB Scene?

A series of recent Facebook posts have fans assuming that Team Secret will soon be announcing their venture into Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), and more specifically into the Southeast Asia category.

M4, the fourth edition of the MLBB World Championship just came to a close on Sunday, 15 January 2023. And since the finals, Team Secret’s Chief Executive Officer, John Yao, has been posting a series of Facebook posts that basically confirm the formation of not just a MLBB roster, but a Filipino one.

It started fairly cryptic.

And it became much clearer when he asked MLBB free agents to reach out to the esport team’s Philippines Manager.

The last post is as close to an actual announcement we have gotten – a warning.

Team Secret’s Twitter have also joined in on the teasing.

This announcement may come as a surprise to many Team Secret fans since Yao said in an interview in February 2022 with Yahoo Gaming SEA that having a MLBB team “(didn’t) make sense at (the) time.” Clearly, that mindset has changed.

The organisation even has the infrastructure to support their new venture with the team house in the Philippines built last year, which they tweeted a sneak peek of.

They have yet to officially announce it but we can definitely say we know it is coming. Team Secret have been a very successful esport organisation, so how will their new SEA MLBB roster fare?
