The emergence of extremely young talents lurking beneath the radar is one of the highlights in the world of esports.
And Thomas “Cud” Alfiantino is one of the names that has become one of the talking points in Valorant competitive scene in Indonesia over the last two years.
Boom Esports revealed last night that the wonderkid duelist had officially joined as their sixth member. Cud, who is currently 16 years old, will be Boom Valorant’s youngest player to date.
Cud’s is likely to replace Rizqie “BerserX” Adla as Boom’s regular player. BerserX has had a bad run of form recently, culminating in Boom’s early exit during the Valorant Invitational India in November 2022.
Cud will reunite with Fikri “famouz” Zaki, with whom he played in Morph Team during the 2020-2021 competitive season. The pair previously formed a potent partnership which Boom hopes will light up the season this year.
Cud entered the world of esports at an early age. In 2018, he experienced the rigors of CS:GO competition with the XCN team, where some of the older pro players noted that his plays were extraordinary.
His seniors, who used to compete in CS: GO, enlisted him into the Xorgee squad for the Valorant pro scene two years later. And he hasn’t looked back since: Cud’s performances have attracted plenty of praises especially from the Indonesian Valorant community.
Morph team decided to buy Xorgee’s slot and retain Cud for the 2020 Valorant competition season. As a result, Cud became a pro Valorant player before he even turned 16, making him the youngest pro player in Indonesia and in Southeast Asia.
And he now makes his biggest move to Boom, which hopes he can further light up the pro Valorant scene with his flashy and smart plays.
