Former HellRaisers CEO Reveals the Cost for DPC Slot

The Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) competition, which takes place in various parts of the world, is certainly enticing. Apart from providing possibilities for athletes and teams to make their names recognized on the big stage, they also have the chance to earn a large sum of money.

Thus, a team slot in the DPC becomes more marketable. We understand that multiple teams take turns participating in this big tournament each year. And in this case, obviously, many have questioned the amount of fee which required to be able to secure the spot in DPC.

Recently, the former CEO of the Hellraisers team, Alexey “Magician” Slabukhin, has revealed the cost that must be paid for a team slot in DPC via his Telegram channel.

According to Magician, the price of the slot is hugely affected by a region’s competition rating. The weaker the composition in the region, the greater the slot price that must be paid.

Magician added that the closer to the end of the season, the cheaper the slot will be, because the chances of getting through the DPC decrease.

The price is expected to be higher in European or Asia region. According to Magician, the pricing is affected by the popularity of the competition in there.

Magician said that selling slots like this proved to be quite profitable for lower tier teams, who are looking to make money by selling them as soon as possible to higher demand, such as bookies.

Furthermore, the sale of this slot could provide a safe bet option for any team, with large resources, who is looking for opportunity to enter the highest Dota competition and compete for the grand tournament that is held at the end of each season, The International.

Despite mixed reactions from Dota fans all over social media, selling DPC slot does not seem to intersect with Valve’s policies so far. They even made a change in their policy regarding ownership of the DPC team spot for the upcoming season a while ago, in order to avoid any mishaps in the future.
