Apex Mobile was recently named as Google Play Game of the Year 2022, and on Apple Store as well. Beating heavyweight titles like Call of Duty Mobile and Genshin Impact, this mini-version of Apex Legends has attracted a large number of gamers with minimum amount of advertisements.
Given that Apex Mobile is less than a year old, this is a remarkable achievement. The game was originally published in May of this year with initial registration made available to only a few countries.
So what made this battle royale game hailed as the best of the best? We believed these factors contributed to this miniature version of Apex Legends being recognized as the greatest mobile game of 2022.
No major difference between the mobile and console/PC version
Adapting gameplay and graphic performance to a smaller scale is one of the biggest problems in porting console/PC games to mobile platforms. In some instances, such as with Wild Rift and PUBG Mobile, developers were compelled to compromise and made changes due to hardware limitations.
This does not appear to be the case in Apex Mobile. The graphics and frame rates are impressive, depending on the gadget used by the players.

Myke Hoff, lead product of Apex Mobile, once said that he was flattered by the positive response from the Apex Legends community during the initial release of the mobile version.
He stated that the Apex Mobile events have always been well appreciated by both veterans and new players. He highlighted the mobile exclusive legend release event in July, which introduced Rhapsody, was warmly received by community.
This is also evident in the game where toxic behaviors are fairly rare, though we are not sure if things will stay this way as the player base numbers are expected to see a significant growth in the upcoming season.
