ESL, the organizer of the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 event, which concluded last Sunday at Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia, has responded positively to the audience’s enthusiasm for their first Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament. They intend to follow up with the Pro Series MLBB in Southeast Asia for the next season.

The ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 competition was the most interesting MLBB pre-season competition of the season, with many teams showing different playstyles and emerging as surprises, including Bigetron Alpha. They defeated the favorites from the Philippines and advanced to the grand final to face Onic Esports. Last Sunday, the Istora Senayan stadium was packed with the Indonesian MLBB fanbase who anticipated the all-Indonesian final in their hometown.

Their dedication surprised ESL, who organized their first-ever MLBB competition in Southeast Asia. Recently, ESL Senior Product Manager Michael Kiefer revealed in a press conference session prior to the grand finals of the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 that he was astonished and pleased to see so many Indonesian fans in the venue. It was the first time he had seen such energy from the audience at Istora Senayan.

In reaction to the enormous response, he stated that if ESL returns to Southeast Asia, they will bring MLBB again as the next Pro Series tournament. Furthermore, the amazing viewership in Indonesia has led them to consider the country as a top candidate for the next tournament, which is expected to be held around 2024.

In recent years, Indonesia has established itself as one of the biggest esports destinations in Southeast Asia. Several international tournaments, including the IESF 2022, M4, and the Bali Major, were conducted successfully in Jakarta and Bali. In terms of viewership, Indonesia has shown to have ardent followers, competing with viewers from other prominent SEA regions such as Thailand and the Philippines.
