Evos Esports Age Reveals Concerning Insights into Dlar’s Departure

In a surprising turn of events, former Evos Legends head coach and Evos Esports’ member, Steven “Age” Kurniawan, has shed light on the persistent demand from fans regarding the notable absence of Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera in big competitions. Furthermore, Age hinted that Dlar’s departure from Evos Esports was happened as the management thought he did not meet the expectations set during that period of heightened anticipation.

On August 17th, Dlar announced his exit from Evos Legends amid uncertainties surrounding his position in the main squad since the commencement of MPL ID Season 12. Fans, particularly those supporting the Filipino exp laner, expressed strong disapproval, criticizing Evos Legends’ management and Age for what they deemed as squandering Dlar’s potential.

Contrary to accusations of mismanagement, Age contends that the decision to part ways with the 24-year-old Filipino player was a strategic one. In a recent Instagram story, Age candidly asserted that Dlar still fell short compared to the local talents within the team.

“These statements (about Dlar) might seem very opinionated. Throughout our journey from MPL ID Season 10 to Season 11, he switched to a creator and then back to a player in Season 12, and in Season 10 and Season 12, he had the same opportunities as others,” argued Age. “Based on scrim data, we found that the results (of Dlar) were not as good as our other exp laners.”

Addressing claims that Dlar struggled due to insufficient time to adapt to Indonesian competition over a year, Age countered by highlighting Dlar’s participation in MDL Season 6. He emphasized that the team management provided multiple chances for Dlar to showcase his progress during that season.

“Speaking of adaptation, what more could be lacking? He’s played in MDL, in MDL Season 6,” Age concluded. “When discussing results and adaptation, what else do you need? He’s had some opportunities.”

Dlar has since returned to the Philippines and is rumored to be on the verge of joining a team in MPL Philippines for the upcoming season. The unfolding narrative will reveal whether Dlar encounters performance issues as asserted by Age.
