Moonton Introduces Another Big Changes for MLBB Development League Indonesia

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League Indonesia has unveiled some big changes, setting new standards in Moonton’s esteemed competitive scene. With the advent of MDL ID Season 9, a redefined format for the regular season takes center stage, featuring the incorporation of the Swiss Round following the group stage to determine the playoff spots of participating teams, alongside the implementation of a fresh transfer policy.

Fans can now catch the playoff race live, thanks to this new approach, without having to wait for the entire regular season to finish. It’s worth noting that only four teams from Group D will move on to the Swiss Round, while the teams at the bottom will be out of the running in MDL Season 9.

Seventeen formidable teams have thrown their hats into the ring for MDL ID S9. Among them, nine hail from the prestigious MPL ID affiliated team, with an additional four emerging as the cream of the crop from MDL Season 8’s independent pool. Two teams earn their spot through the MLBB Indonesian Community Cup, while the final duo secures entry via the play-in stage.

In addition to the Swiss round, Moonton will implement a new transfer policy that allows team to tweak their squad without needing to meet a minimum match requirement. This means any organization which participate in both MDL and MPL ID can promote, demote, or trade players between the two leagues whenever necessary.

These transformative measures represent the second wave of revisions initiated by Moonton for Indonesia’s MLBB competitive scene in 2024. Earlier, the league committed to promote inclusivity by opening the door for Woman Star League Indonesia teams to compete in Season 10 of MDL ID.
