The new season of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) competition is set to begin soon and looks like fans will be spoiled for choice with more intriguing matches due to the shorter schedule, particularly in the Southeast Asia region.

A report from our source said the MPL schedule for the Southeast Asia region this season will be shortened from the initial plans, which is expected to begin around February 17-18 and run through mid-April 2023. This schedule will apply to all Southeast Asian leagues, particularly the MPL Season 11 in Indonesia and the Philippines.

The adjustments, he claimed, were made so that the final round of the MPL in every country in Southeast Asia will not conclude too close to the SEA Games schedule which will be held in Cambodia in May.

As we know, each Southeast Asian country is now assembling a national squad to compete as an esports representative in the upcoming SEA Games Cambodia 2023. Naturally, every player in the major leagues will need time to take a rest in order to focus during the national team bootcamp.

When it comes to the 2023 Southeast Asian Games, the MLBB competition is sure to be one of the most anticipated games as there will be big names playing for their respective country, particularly those of Indonesia and the Philippines (Sibol).

Furthermore, fans are definitely looking forward to the next chapter of the Indonesian – Philippines rivalry at SEA Games 2023. The two faced each other in the grand finals of the IESF WEC 2022 in Bali last December. Led by the coach Bjorn ‘Zeys’ Ong, the Indonesian swept Sibol in 3-0 victory.

MLBB will be one of the video games featured at the SEA Games Cambodia 2023, along with PUBG Mobile, Valorant, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Attack Online 2, and Crossfire.
