Naomi Joins RRQ as Their First International ML Signing

The rumored next big thing in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League Indonesia has finally arrived. Min “Naomi” Ko, a roamer from Myanmar, has joined RRQ as their first international player and the first Myanmar player in Indonesia.

Prior to this deal, Naomi was known as one of the key players of Falcon Esports. He was released as a free agent after the MLBB competition at the 2023 SEA Games a few weeks ago.

The news about Naomi’s departure from Falcon Esports was greeted with excitement by the MLBB community in SEA, especially in Indonesia. Several big teams in MPL ID, such as Bigetron, Aura Esports and RRQ, were reportedly ready to sign him as their next star. Ultimately, RRQ CEO Andrian Pauline reached out to him and sealed the deal.

Naomi will replace RRQ’s roamer and captain Calvin “Vyn” who rejoined Bigetron Alpha a few weeks ago. According to the RRQ social media, Naomi is the first out of eight players prepared for the upcoming MPL ID Season 12.

Underrated in SEA

Naomi and his teammates have proved their worth with some excellent track record in multiple MLBB competitions against heavyweight teams, especially during the M4 competition in Jakarta.

At the time, they shocked everyone as they beat Blacklist International and the Turkish underdog Incendio Supremacy. They advanced to the lower bracket final four and nearly eliminated RRQ. Despite the loss, some pundits praised their ethos and mechanics, especially Naomi who was regarded as one of the top roamers in that competition.

Months after the competition, some reports claimed that the Falcon squad was in crisis due to the uncertainty about the competitive scene in the conflict-torn country of Myanmar. And recently, Falcon has announced their disbandment and released all of its players.

Naomi will certainly not be the only Myanmar player to compete in the MPL ID tournament. Recently, his teammate Pyae “Justin” Sone Khant has been actively promoting himself on social media and has expressed willingness to play overseas. Justin, like Naomi, is a Falcon player with a solid track record who is in demand by major teams.
