No More Onic Time? Onic Esports Yeb Hints at His Return to Philippines

Rumors concerning the return to Philippines of two members of the Mobile Legends team: Bang Bang Onic Esports, head coach Miranda “Yeb” Denver and jungler Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol, are spreading. Today, Yeb has added to the rumour mill by posting a cryptic video on his Tiktok account.

Yeb hangs up his Onic Esports jersey in the video, suggesting he will sit out the rest of the season. Soon after, numerous Onic team members, including Nicky “Kiboy” Fernando and Calvin “CW” Winata, responded on the video on social media. Meanwhile, Muhammad “Butss” Sanubari shared an Instagram post in which he revealed that the Onic squad had a “farewell dinner” with Yeb the day before.

Surprisingly, some players from other clubs replied to these rumours as well. Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera, a player of the Philippines’ Evos Legends team, is one of them. Dlar’s reaction bolstered the Indonesian MLBB community’s belief that he will soon reunite with his old coach in Philippines.

Furthermore, during the MPL ID Season 12 press conference this afternoon at Cinepolis Senayan in Central Jakarta, Onic Esports founder Justin Widjaja addressed these rumours by stating that someone will “leave” his team. He has not, however, addressed the rumours about Yeb and Kairi’s departure.

So far, numerous names have been floated as potential replacements for Yeb and Kairi ahead of MPL ID Season 12, which begins next month. Yesterday, Onic Esports assistant coach Adi Asyauri publicly said that he will take over as head coach in lieu of Yeb. Meanwhile, Albert “Albertt” Iskandar, who just left RRQ, is rumored to take Kairi’s spot as their jungler.

Onic will certainly have a serious problem if Yeb and Kairi do indeed depart this month. The two have been pivotal in the team’s back-to-back MPL ID victories, overcoming veteran heavyweights such as RRQ and Evos. Many predict Onic will most struggle against teams like RRQ, Bigetron, and the ambitious newcomer, Dewa United without Yeb’s knowledge and Kairi’s monstrous performance.
