Super Red Questions His Role Amid Roster Shakeup in Evos Glory

Amidst the electrifying buzz of the MLBB Pro League Indonesia Season 13, a storm is seemingly brewing within the hallowed halls of Evos Glory. Jon “Super Red” Bordeos, the young Filipino import hailed as a game-changer, now finds himself cast into the shadows, relegated from the limelight of the main team lineup.

Super Red made quite the entrance as the second Filipino addition to the Evos Glory roster, touching down in January following the footsteps of head coach John “Theo” Eusebio. With an impressive resume boasting stints with the Selangor Red Giants and Blacklist International, it was no wonder he quickly captured the attention of Evos fans, who anticipated his arrival as the next sensation in MPL ID.

The 18-year-old gold laner initially showcased promise during pre-season matches in Indonesia. However, as MPL ID S13 kicked off, his performance waned, and his squad found themselves grappling with opponents’ strategies.

Weeks 1 and 2 proved to be tough for Evos, failing to secure a single series victory with Super Red making minimal impact. This downturn prompted a significant shakeup in the lineup, starting in week 3, with reinforcements from the second division team stepping in.

In the shuffle, Super Red found himself relegated to the reserve team, replaced by Nicodemus “Natco” Dustin. Meanwhile, Theo relinquished his coaching duties to Afrindo “Strate” Valentino, assuming the role of analyst due to language barriers with the players.

Though Evos managed to clinch two wins during weeks 3 and 4 post-overhaul, Super Red, now on the sidelines, appeared less than thrilled with the outcomes, voicing his discontent with the current situation on X.

Observers and influencers within the MLBB community noted Super Red’s unease during MPL ID matches, speculating that language barriers with his teammates might be hindering his performance.

This isn’t the first time Evos has grappled with such issues. Two years prior, Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera faced a similar fate, sidelined from the main lineup and voicing grievances about playing time in major tournaments. Former Evos members revealed that language barriers, particularly with Indonesian, contributed to his sidelining.

Despite the hurdles, there’s still plenty of promise in Super Red’s ability to dazzle on the MPL ID stage, fueled by his youthful energy. Yet, the path to greatness hangs in the balance, relying on his steadfast determination and Evos’ resolve to address their internal challenges before the next mid-season showdown.
