Team RRQ Gears Up for the Next Season as Naomi Returns to Myanmar

In a surprising move, Team RRQ has parted ways with Min “Naomi” Ko just over two weeks after signing Borris “Brusko” Parro. The decision comes six months after acquiring the Burmese MLBB star, and a new roster is expected to be unveiled before the year-end.

Expressing gratitude via RRQ’s official YouTube channel, Naomi cited a mutual agreement with RRQ management, emphasizing the decision as strategic preparation for the upcoming MLBB competition season.

“I felt welcome here in RRQ, especially with the (RRQ) Kingdom. I’ve been here for one season; it was quite short, but I’m grateful that I could contribute to this team,” Naomi shared. “But I have decided to go back to my country, Myanmar. Both RRQ and I have new plans for Season 13. So, I hope you guys can respect our decision and keep supporting RRQ and me in Myanmar.”.

As of now, RRQ management hasn’t provided an official explanation for this significant roster change. However, speculation within the Indonesian MLBB community points towards performance issues as a probable factor.

Naomi, who joined RRQ in June, swiftly emerged as a standout in the Indonesian MLBB community, showcasing an impressive track record as a top roamer in the Southeast Asian competitive scene. The hype surrounding him proved to be justified as he demonstrated his skills during MPL ID S12, contributing significantly to his team’s defense and clinching a runner-up finish in the regular season.

However, the fervent backing for Naomi underwent a gradual transformation into skepticism, with numerous observers underscoring his challenges in adjusting to a revised game plan in the October playoffs. RRQ faced setbacks against Geek Fam in the upper bracket semi-finals, followed by a heavy defeat against Bigetron Alpha in the lower bracket semi-finals. Additionally, reports claimed that Naomi was hesitant to adopt the healer meta, leading to a perceived disruption in the team’s overall strategy.

Looking ahead to MPL ID S13, RRQ is gearing up for major changes. Besides Brusko replacing Naomi, the organization has also signed promising Filipino talent, John “Irrad” Abarquez. Experts in the Indonesian MLBB scene anticipate that these changes will serve as a turning point for RRQ, propelling them back to their esteemed status in previous seasons.
