Merciless Todak Beat Team SMG in MPL Malaysia Season 11 Grand Finals

Todak crowned as the champions of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League Malaysia (MPL MY) Season 11 following a 4-0 victory over Team SMG at Stadium Juara, Malaysia. This was the Malaysian giants’ third victory in the MPL MY.

The MPL champions and runners-up both had an impressive run throughout the competition. During the regular season, Team SMG topped the table. Todak, on the other hand, ended up in second place with 4 points less than Team SMG. Coming into the playoffs, both clubs advanced directly into the semi-finals.

The two finalists were struggling in the semi-finals. Todak faced against two less favored teams in MPL MY S11, Team Lunatix and HomeBois. However, the two teams were unexpectedly able to provide tough competition. In two games, Todak won by a narrow score, 2-1 against Lunatix and 3-2 against HomeBois.

Meanwhile, Team SMG, which recorded a clean sheet during the regular season of MPL MY S11, was surprisingly eliminated from the upper bracket semi-finals with a score of 1-2 against HomeBois. They made it to the grand finals after dramatically defeating Team Lunatix and Homebois in the lower bracket.

Competing against Todak in the grand final in a best-of-seven series, it seemed that SMG’s good form was insufficient to overcome the MPL MY giant’s winning mentality. In the first game, the new favourite of the MPL MY was defeated 14-7 in under 12 minutes. The amazing performance of Muhammad Danial “CikuGais” Bin Mohamad Fuad with one of his favorites, Karrie, captivated both the crowd and the casters.

CikuGais continued with his slaughter show to the final game and eventually won his second MVP award in a row. Despite being troubled by Karrie, surprisingly, Team SMG did not ban the hero during the draft pick and allowing CikuGais to dominate game after game.

Todak’s 4-0 victory against Team SMG is the second landslide victory in the MPL to occur in the SEA region. As the champions of MPL MY S11, they will represent Malaysia in MLBB Southeast Asia Cup competition in Cambodia next month.
