A physical altercation between Elevate Reborn’s Steven Joshua “Edoten” Cruz and Infamous’s TooPro Gaming has led to the disqualification of the two teams from the PMCT NCR on 1 April 2023.

It is still unclear what caused the fist fight but witnesses say that the two players were seen chasing each other and throwing punches before their teammates and security came to separate them.

PUBG Mobile Philippines Esports posted their official statement announcing the disqualifications onto their Facebook.

The players have also issued their apologies on the social media platform.

Translating to English, Edoten first apologised to his team and those affected. “I should have had more patience but my anger prevailed because my loved ones were involved… I take full responsibility for what happened,” he explained. “I’m sorry to all that I’ve disappointed.”

TooPro Gaming, however, took a slightly different approach with his apology. It has since been deleted but it started with an apology to his teammates, before going after Edoten. He even asked to go for a second round but this time with “full video.”

He has since posted a new apology.

He said: “I am sorry for what happened. After a few days of reflection, I have realised that this time, I have let my arrogance and pride go too far. I’m sorry to those affected, especially my team.” He also added that he deserves the “bashing” and that the incident is an “eye-opener” that has taught him a lesson about his attitude.

However, despite his apology, Infamous have decided to remove him from their roster. Elevate Reborn have yet to take any action regarding the incident.
