Team Secret Demolishes DFM to Secure a Playoff Spot in VCT Pacific League

The Filipino pride, Team Secret, has clinched a second spot in Group Alpha at VCT Pacific Stage 1 following a huge victory against DetonatioN FocusMe this evening, further extending its winning streak after defeating fan-favorites Paper Rex and Zeta Division last week.

Having suffered a heavy defeat against DRX and RRQ in the opening week, the Adobo gang has redeemed itself and showed its true potential in week 2, igniting fervor among Southeast Asian fans with its fearless gameplay. Although DetonatioN FocusMe proved to be a tricky opponent in the past weeks, Team Secret’s unwavering resolve proved insurmountable.

There was clearly no sign of holding back in game 1 as TS completely demolished DFM on its own strong pick, Lotus. TS’ duo Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera and Jim “Borkum” Timbreza barely broke a sweat as they patrolled every corner to take every DFM player down and won the game by a resounding 13-4 victory.

The Japanese then replied back as it pulled a reverse against TS’s strong map, Breeze, in game 2. Despite an impressive performance in the first half, TS was completely outsmarted as DFM turned up with a better strategy as defender, overturning the 4-point deficit to win it by 9-13.

However, DFM’s heroic moment was short-lived as TS ramped up the intensity for the deciding game at Sunset. Showing ruthless efficiency, the duo of Jremy and Noel “NDG” De Guia were having fun as they took down DFM’s players round by round to make it 12-0 in a short time.

DFM showed a little effort to save itself from the embarrassment of a winless defeat, but it was too late as TS completely outpaced them in the last two rounds, ending the round with a 13-2 victory.

This victory puts TS right behind Gen.G in Group Alpha with 3 victories out of 5 games. Combined with Global Esports’ recent defeat against Paper Rex, TS has also secured a spot in the playoffs with one series left to play against Talon Esports this weekend.
