Team Secret Sign Fbz of Boom Esports on Loan for the Dreamleague Season 20

Team Secret announced last night that they have signed team Boom Esports offlaner, Saieful “Fbz” Ilham, for the DreamLeague S20 competition in Europe.

Rumours regarding Fbz leaving the Boom Esports squad have been circulating for the last week, particularly during Boom’s last two DPC SEA Tour 3 matches, where coach Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung filled in for Fbz. At the time, Boom’s management did not release any information nor respond to rumours about his status in the team.

Fans ultimately got their answer last night when Team Secret announced that Fbz will be joining them on loan for the Dreamleague S20 competition in Europe from June 11 to June 26. Fbz, who replaces Miroslav “Boom” Bican as offlaner, will become Secret’s second Southeast Asian player after Armel “Armel” Tabios.

Team Secret will definitely be counting on Fbz, who has been playing in numerous high level competitions, to improve their game, which has seen a significant dip after The International 11 in Singapore last year. Like Boom Esports, Secret have been relegated twice this season, in Tour 1 and Tour 3. They were also chastised by their fans for failing to find a suitable successor for their ace, Michal “Nisha” Jankowski, who joined Team Liquid.

On the other hand, Boom Esports certainly expect Fbz to make the most of his time in Europe and come home with insights that can help them grow next season. At the moment, Boom Esports are going through a performance evaluation from this season before making any substantial change.

Team Secret and Fbz will face Talon Esports in their first match at 4pm SGT. This tournament will pit 16 large teams against each other for a USD 1 million prize pool and tickets to the Riyadh Masters in Saudi Arabia in July.
