FIFA 25 on the Horizon: Talks Heat Up Between FIFA and 2K for Major Game Partnership

Guess what? The word on the street is that FIFA, the bigwig football authority, might have just found its match in the video game world to take on EA Sports FC games. And it next partner will be none other than 2K, EA’s rival in the sports simulation genre.

In case you missed it, the virtual football community went bonkers after FIFA and EA split up. EA, the brains behind the best-selling football game for over two decades, called it quits due to a revenue sharing dispute with FIFA. They decided to go ahead with their own EA FC title, leaving FIFA in the lurch.

Since then, FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been chatting up a storm with several top-notch studios to cook up the next FIFA game, even aiming for a release as early as winter 2024. While nothing’s set in stone, the latest buzz suggests FIFA might be cozying up to the renowned American sports game studio, 2K.

Recently, some sources claimed that FIFA might soon announce a partnership with 2K, handing over the keys to the much-anticipated FIFA 25. Now, here’s the kicker: 2K might not have dabbled much in football games, but they’re no strangers to blockbuster hits like NBA 2K and NFL 2K, especially in North America.

This could be their big break to shake up the football gaming world. Right now, players are stuck choosing between eFootball and EA FC, both of which have been getting flak for being lackluster. With 2K’s track record for creating smash hits, they could give EA a run for their money real soon.
