Alter Ego Ares Clinches Back-to-Back Wins in PUBG Mobile Super League SEA Fall 2023

Alter Ego Ares has set a new high as they successfully defended their title in the grand finals of the PUBG Mobile Super League SEA Fall 2023, which took place from August 25 to 27 at Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Against all odds, the God of War surpassed their compatriots who fared better this season, such as Persija Evos, Bigetron Red Villains and RRQ.

A bit of fortune was clearly involved, as the squad brought all they had and bet it all on one last assault. There were concerns from fans who feared that they would not be able to continue their good run in Southeast Asia competition, given the team finishing 15th and 13th on the first and second days of the Grand Finals, respectively. On the other hand, FaZe, who were lagging during the regular season, overcame their weakness and briefly sat at the top, with Persijavos and Bigetron RV trailing behind.

But as the last matchday approached, they intensified their assault and annihilated their opponents almost effortlessly. They won back-to-back WWCDs on the Erangel map, tallying 26 kills in the second and third matches. This intensity carried over until the third and fourth matches, when they finished third with a total of 22 kills.

On the final map, Miramar, there was a shocking moment when they made a mistake that ended them in 16th place and put them in danger of losing the top spot. However, FaZe and Bigetron RV, who were closest to their ranking, failed to capitalize on their error and got knocked out by Playbook Esports and D Xavier. They finished sixth and tenth respectively in that final round.

With their victory, AE will bring home a $250,000 prize and will represent Indonesia with Bigetron RV, Persijavos, and Morph GPX in the next two major PUBGM competitions: PUBG Mobile Regional Clash 2023 in China in October and PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2023 in Turkey in November.
