Problems Arise at Persija Evos as Players Reveal Concerning Updates from Inside the Team

In a surprising twist, Indonesian esports giant Persija Evos finds itself in the spotlight on social media, with PUBG Mobile players expressing concerns over tournament prize money and internal challenges within the team’s boot camp.

The team’s captain, Alvin “Misery” Ramadhan, took to social media to voice his frustration, revealing that they are yet to receive the prize pool from PUBGM tournaments they participated in throughout 2023. This revelation comes as a perplexing contrast to other Indonesian teams who have reportedly received their payments in full.

“Can anyone get me an information on the tournament prize pool? Other teams have already received their payments, yet we haven’t get any from the 2023 tournaments,” lamented Misery.

Teammates, including Made “Luxxy” Prabaswara and Eksa “Redface” Jayanto, swiftly joined the conversation. Luxxy reposted Misery’s statement, while Redface highlighted additional challenges faced by the team, such as frequent power outages at their boot camp hindering regular practice sessions.

Responding to the mounting concerns, Persija Evos management attributed the prize pool payment delay to issues with the tournament organizer, Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent Games in Southeast Asia. The management emphasized, “We have yet to receive and are awaiting prize pool payments from the organizers for several tournaments attended by the Persija EVOS team.”

This development triggered a wave of criticism from the Indonesian PUBGM community directed at Infinite, accusing them of neglecting Persija Evos and urging the team to explore legal solution. However, these allegations were met with a counter-response from PUBGM Indonesia’s country manager, Agung Chaniago, who cited a miscommunication on Persija Evos’ part.

Chaniago clarified, “Regarding the prizes for the 2023 PMSL SEA Spring and Fall tournaments, the organizers sent official letters about payment data requirements for tournament prizes to all participating teams since September 2023.”

He further explained that Persija Evos only addressed this official communication on November 26, 2023, leading to a delay in the tournament prize payment process. As of the current update, Persija Evos has not provided a response to Agung’s statement.

Sources close to the situation report that Persija Evos management is actively engaging with players and the coaching team to expedite the resolution of these issues. Given their commendable performance in the PMPL ID Fall 2023 and PMGC 2023 Grand Finals, Persija Evos must swiftly navigate these challenges to uphold player trust and retain their formidable lineup for the upcoming season.
