Jawgemo Stays as Evil Geniuses Embarks on a Daring New Era in Valorant Competition

Surprise, surprise! Alexander “Jawgemo” Mor, the lone Southeast Asian contender on the Evil Geniuses’ Valorant roster, is likely to extend his stay with the team into the upcoming 2024 competitive season.

Now, if you weren’t in the loop, Evil Geniuses caused a stir in the NA Valorant scene. After winning the Champions tournament in LA back in August 2023, they dropped some controversial plans that didn’t sit well with the community. To make things worse, the veteran esports organization didn’t bother addressing the issue.

The protracted internal discord culminated in the departure of nearly the entire roster of EG’s winning squad in close succession. The dynamic duo of Ethan “Ethan” Arnold and Max “Demon1” Mazanov bid adieu two days before Christmas 2023 to join forces with the NRG team. Subsequently, Corbin “C0M” Lee made a strategic move to the Leviatan team, while team captain Kelden “Boostio” Pupello opted for greener pastures with the rival 100 Thieves team two weeks later.

During that hard time, Jawgemo found himself as the lone player on the EG roster without contractual clarity. Speculations ran rife within the community, initially suggesting he might join his mates in 100 Thieves or heed the siren call to ‘return’ to Southeast Asia. However, recent developments quashed these rumors as the Cambodian fragger took to his social media to make it clear that he’s still rocking the EG colors.

Through his social media account, Jawgemo tantalizingly hinted at a collaboration with four yet-to-be-revealed players in the near future. Interestingly, a source has claimed that these recruits were scouted within the North American competitive scene and have a track record with top-tier teams.

But that’s not all – the OG leader, head coach Christine “Potter” Chi, is locked in for the upcoming competitive season. However, with EG fans expecting nothing short of greatness after last year’s stellar season, this roster shake-up will not be a walk in the park for her. Only time will tell whether EG truly made a good decision.
