The eagerly anticipated MLBB Pro League Philippines Season 13 competition is finally set to commence on Friday (3/15). With the recent talent turnover in the transfer market a few months ago, it’s certain that there will be significant shifts in power among this season’s participants.

Without a doubt, all eyes are on AP Bren and Echo, which have dominated both domestic and international competitions in the past year. Some remain hopeful for Blacklist International to reclaim its former glory without its iconic duo. However, we believe there are some underdogs worth keeping an eye on in the upcoming MPL PH S13. Considering their lineups, these teams could potentially challenge the established favorites in the competition. Check them out!

Having tasted victory in MPL PH S9 and MSC 2022, RSG PH has maintained a steadfast commitment to upholding its stature as a dominant force in the MLBB competitive arena of the Philippines. While the team approached the pinnacle last season, it ultimately yielded ground to AP Bren and Echo.

As the new season unfolds, RSG faces familiar challenges. Despite the departure of John “Irrad” Abarquez to RRQ in MPL ID, the team welcomes back star Jungler Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto, who shone as the MVP at ONE Esports MPL Invitational in Jakarta, Indonesia, last year. With the guidance of captain Dylan “Light” Catipon and esteemed head coach Brian “Panda” Chang-rok, RSG stands poised for a breakthrough this season.

Filipino pundits predict a rough road ahead for ME this season following the departure of key players Borris “Brusko” Parro and John “JM” Mari to RRQ Hoshi and Bigetron Alpha in Indonesia. Nevertheless, ME has fortified its ranks with seasoned veterans.

The team has welcomed back Jeniel “YellyHaze” Bata-Anon from the coaching staff to the player lineup. Additionally, signings of Jann “Kirk” Gutierrez and John “Perkz” Sumawan aim to fill the void left by Brusko and JM. While a top-four finish may be challenging, this revamped lineup holds promise of a maiden entry into the knockout stage.

The Yellow Porcupine boys briefly captured the spotlight in MPL PH last season with impressive victories over Blacklist International and TNC Pro, securing a spot in the knockout stage. However, their journey were marred by inconsistency, leading to an early exit at the hands of weakened Blacklist International.

Nevertheless, fortunes may soon turn for Onic PH with the acquisition of highly-touted talent Grant “Kelra” Pillas, who made a surprising move from Omega Esports in mid-February. Additionally, the addition of TNC Pro’s jungler, King “K1NGKONG” Perez, replacing Dean “Raizen” Sumagui, adds depth to the roster. Kelra’s prowess in the gold lane coupled with K1NGKONG’s experience may unlock new heights for Onic PH this season.
