Too predictable, easily countered. This is why Blacklist is struggling.

Blacklist International, known for their support meta, is struggling to maintain their winning streak in the MPL PH Season 11 and its because their rivals know how to counter them, said Indonesian caster Mirko.

“Blacklist still plays their gameplay from season 7. You know they keep playing the same gameplay and formula because they were at their peak performance for a long time, and now everyone can read and counter their gameplay,” Mirko said in a YouTube livestream.

According to Mirko, the meta that Blacklist has been using is a double-edged sword for their team. Although it has been effective for them in the past, the current meta is not as dominant and has resulted in their recent decline.

“MLBB is now very good because the meta is very dynamic. OhMyV33NUS became a double-edged sword because the support META is not the primary meta anymore,” Mirko explained.

Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna is one of the players in Blacklist International and is known for his Estes hero pick. The team’s support meta has been a significant advantage for them in big battles because of its powerful sustain war capabilities.

Despite their reputation as a formidable team, Blacklist’s recent performances have fallen short of expectations. Bren Esports defeated them in the final week of the MPL PH Season 11 with a decisive 2-0 victory.

Currently, Blacklist is still fighting in the MPL PH Season 11 playoffs, starting with the play-ins to secure a spot in the upper bracket. They will face Omega Esports in their first match, and a loss could send them packing from the playoffs.

Blacklist’s struggles showcase the importance of constantly evolving gameplay and strategies to stay ahead in competitive esports. With the dynamic nature of the META in MLBB, teams must adapt and innovate to maintain their dominance in the scene. As Mirko puts it, “the META is very dynamic,” and teams that can keep up will have a significant advantage over those who cannot.
