Yawi Completes Aura Fire’s Squad for the Upcoming MPL Indonesia

Aura Fire just wrapped up their squad for the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia Season 13, and you guessed it right: they snagged two champs for their team, including Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera from the Philippines who has been a top priority for the organization since December of last year.

For MPL ID S13, Aura Fire’s got Yawi, Gugun “Gugun” Surya, Jehuda “High” Sumual, Leonardo “Kabuki” Agung, Yehezkiel “Syndrome” Wiseman, and Aldhia “Aran” Aranda in their lineup. And in case you missed it, Usep “Facehugger” Satiawan isn’t playing anymore; he’s jumped into the role of analyst to help out head coach Dolly “SaintDeLucaz” Van Pelo.

Yawi and Gugun are the latest signings that have quickly garnered spotlight. The former was a member of Echo, which is owned by Aura Esports, and amassed a massive fanbase thanks to his impressive performances in the M4 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the MPL Philippines Season 10 – 11. However, internal conflicts within the team were believed to have led him to seek new opportunities outside of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Gugun was one of the young players who briefly caught the attention of the Indonesian MLBB community with Bossque in the MLBB Development League Indonesia Season 8 in 2023, taking down big names like Pendekar Esports, Bigetron, and RRQ to win the whole thing.

Both players are expected to boost Aura’s performance, which has been declining after 2022. With veterans like Facehugger and Erico “God1va” out of the picture, there’s space for a combo of young guns and international experience, like Yawi brings, to put them back in the running this season.
