Watch: Yawi Wows Indonesian MLBB Fans, Overcomes Language Barrier

Picture this: you are a pro gamer diving into the esports scene abroad and it’s all fun and games until you realize you need to tackle a new language, especially when teamwork is everything. But somehow Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera totally nailed it in short time after signing with Aura Fire.

Yawi, a 22-year-old roamer, jumped into the Indonesian MLBB Professional League scene with a bang, and the Indonesian MLBB community welcomed him with open arms. And that’s not a surprise given his stellar track record in the Philippines convinced everyone that he’s the guy to steer his new team towards victory.

What’s cool is, Yawi didn’t just pick up the game; he also picked up the language. During a recent livestream, he wowed Indonesian fans with his near-perfect Indonesian skills. His teammates spilled the beans, revealing he’d been grinding for at least two months to master the language before even setting foot in Indonesia.

Now, here’s the kicker: Yawi’s countrymates like Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol, Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy, Mark “Markyyy” Capacio, and Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera, had to hustle for one to two seasons to speak Indonesian properly. The latter even struggled to get game time because of the language barrier, eventually heading back to the Philippines.

With Yawi’s mad skills, it’s no doubt he’s about to become Indonesia’s next favorite Filipino gamer. Get ready, because he’s bringing the heat to MPL ID S13, and his insights are bound to level up his team big time.
