Adios! EternaLEnVy Is Leaving Dota 2, For Good

Less than a year after his retirement from competitive Dota 2, Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao has announced that he will be leaving the game behind indefinitely.

Yes, the legend will be completely abandoning the game. Totally.

The Canadian turned to his Twitter and Instagram to share the news.

In the same post, he shared a new limited edition mousepad design – consisting of many of his memes – that he would be selling and that his next Twitch stream would be his last.

Throughout his career, the carry has played with big names – such as Fnatic, Team Secret, Cloud9 and Infamous — and has made a name for himself, competing in The International 2014 and The Shanghai Major 2016. Known for pushing the boundaries and being aggressively blunt, he has also collected his fair share of haters.

EE, as he is known, was also responsible for some of the most innovative strategies and builds. He is keenly watched by Dota 2 fans for his gameplay as well as strategic thinking.

It was no surprise then that he received an outpouring of love and support after the announcement.

The beloved player has also come out to share his reasons behind the decision, saying that it “isn’t for (him)” anymore and that he has found something else to chase wholeheartedly.”

He has made such a huge difference in the Dota 2 community during his decade in it, but whatever he chooses to pursue next, we wish EternaLEnVy the best of luck.
